Project Wildcat Data Centre Phase 1, Denmark copy | Denmark | 2018

Growing internationally with a hyper-scale data centre.

Our confidential client was building a hyper-scale data centre in Viborg, Denmark, and it asked Flynn to manage the fit-out. This was a new territory for our company, and we assembled a collaborative team that enjoys a challenge to take on this ambitious project.

Our client wanted to make sure that its new centre embodied its commitment to environmental responsibility. The facility is powered by 100% renewable energy, and surplus energy is recycled in the local district’s heating system. Our fit-out work had to be equally eco-conscious, and we worked in close collaboration with the design team and subcontractors to ensure that it was.

The Viborg facility is one of the world’s largest data centres, and its sheer size meant that everything had to be meticulously planned. Works varied from the installation of internal wall linings, joinery and architectural finishes to the fitting of high-spec birch ceilings in the administration buildings.

THE OUTCOME

This was Flynn’s first international project, and it has proved a highly successful one. Our client believes in leaving the world better than it found it, and its remarkable new facility is the epitome of energy efficiency and performance. It is also scalable, and our team in the region is set to expand in order to assist our client with further works.
