Becton Dickinson | Limerick | 2017

Becton Dickinson expands into a custom-built hub.

Becton Dickinson is an American medical technology firm that has been serving its clients in Ireland for over 50 years. It was expanding its R&D activities in Limerick, and it needed a new hub to facilitate that growth. It asked us to completely redevelop its existing warehouse and create a state-of-the-art facility that prioritised both safety and ergonomic design.

We delivered an R&D hub complete with laboratory extensions, collaboration spaces, meeting rooms, R&D suites and a fully equipped canteen. We also extended the warehouse to the east and south, building a three-storey central core with a plant room on the roof deck. We completed full M&E and interior fit-outs, installing high-quality finishes throughout.

We carried out this project in accordance with the Building Control Amendment Regulations (BCAR). We held regular BCAR meetings and carried out fortnightly site inspections to ensure BCAR compliance. Ancillary certificates of completion were signed off throughout the project, ensuring that document compilation was controlled and kept on track

THE OUTCOME

Today, Becton Dickinson’s new facility serves as its global R&D hub and is a key part of the company’s long-term strategic growth plans.
