St Vincent’s Hospital wanted to refresh its medical and surgical suites and asked Flynn to take on the task. The project had to be completed within a sensitive live environment, while maintaining 100% uptime on all critical operational systems.
The hospital had to remain in continual service, and we were also working to a tight deadline. Careful planning was essential, and we held daily whiteboard meetings on site with all parties to ensure successful delivery.
During the enabling phase of the project, we isolated the adjoining live theatres and carried out a controlled soft strip-out of the M&E infrastructure, fixtures, fittings and finishes. We then installed new M&E and other specialist systems and refurbished the suites to the highest of standards. As project supervisor for the construction stage (PSCS), we also managed the completion of live tie-ins and performed integrated systems testing on all existing infrastructure.
